Check out the new electromagnetic aircraft launch system (EMALS) in action aboard the future USS John F. Kennedy – CVN 79! Shipbuilders from Newport News and U.S. Navy sailors have started testing this system on the ship’s topside. EMALS is replacing the old steam catapults used on Nimitz-class aircraft carriers.
