YEMEN — On Jan. 17, around 8:30 p.m. local time, a suspected unmanned aerial system (UAS) attack, originating from Houthi-controlled territory in Yemen, struck the M/V Genco Picardy, a Marshall Islands-flagged, U.S.-owned bulk carrier ship, in the Gulf of Aden.
There were no reported injuries from the attack, but the vessel sustained some damage. Despite this, the M/V Genco Picardy remains seaworthy and has continued its voyage.
