Indian Navy commandos successfully boarded a hijacked Liberian-flagged ship, the MV Lila Norfolk, in the Arabian Sea, conducting “sanitization” operations, as reported by the navy on Friday. The exact details of the operation remain undisclosed.
The intervention occurred on Friday afternoon, following a report received by the navy less than a day earlier about the ship’s hijacking off Somalia’s coast in the North Arabian Sea. According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency, the Indian Navy’s swift response led to no unauthorized persons being found on board.
