U.S. Fighter Aircraft Intercept Missile Aimed at USS Laboon in Southern Red Sea

USS Laboon

An anti-ship cruise missile, launched from areas in Yemen controlled by Iranian-backed Houthi militants, targeted the USS Laboon (DDG 58) in the Southern Red Sea, according to a Central Command statement earlier today.  The missile was launched at about 4:45 p.m. local time but was successfully shot down by U.S. fighter aircraft near the coast of Hudaydah. No injuries or damage were reported in the failed attack.

This is a developing story.
