U.S. Central Command forces have been actively engaged in countering Houthi threats in the Red Sea region. On Jan. 20, around 4 a.m. Sanaa time (8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Jan. 19), they conducted airstrikes to destroy a Houthi anti-ship missile positioned in the Gulf of Aden, which was considered a threat to merchant and U.S. Navy ships.

In addition to this operation, U.S. forces, including aircraft from the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, have recently been involved in multiple incidents targeting Houthi-launched weaponry. On Jan. 18-19, they destroyed four Houthi anti-ship ballistic missiles. These actions are part of a series of U.S. and U.K. efforts to neutralize Houthi attacks and ensure the safety of shipping lanes in the Red Sea. The Houthis have been targeting various ships in the area and have declared U.S. and U.K. ships as targets in response to ongoing conflicts in the region.
