Arizona Guardsmen Wounded in Jordan Drone Strike

An unmanned drone attack in northeast Jordan, near the Syrian border, injured Arizona National Guardsmen among others on Sunday, state officials reported.

The strike resulted in three American deaths and injuries to over 40 individuals. The Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs stated late Monday that while multiple members of the Arizona National Guard were hurt, there were no fatalities among them.  Three of the injured were medically evacuated for further treatment but are expected to recover.

The soldiers are part of the 1st Battalion, 158th Infantry Regiment, known as the “Bushmasters.”

Maj. Gen. Kerry L. Muehlenbeck, the Arizona National Guard Adjutant General, emphasized ongoing communication with the battalion’s commander and the focus on the well-being of soldiers and their families, urging for continued prayers.
