India is dispatching three warships to the Arabian Sea following a drone attack on an “Israel-affiliated” merchant ship, MV Chem Pluto, near Gujarat’s coast.

The attack, which occurred 200 nautical miles off Gujarat, caused a fire but no casualties among the crew of 21 Indians and one Vietnamese.

The Liberia-flagged, Japanese-owned, and Netherlands-operated tanker was carrying oil from Saudi Arabia to Mangalore Port.

Indian Coast Guard ship escorted MV Chem Pluto to Mumbai.

In response, India’s Navy deployed Guided Missile Destroyers INS Mormugao, INS Kochi, and INS Kolkata to enhance security in the region.
