A member of the Connecticut National Guard funeral honors team presents the American flag to the family of Army Air Force Tech Sgt. Kenneth McKeeman during his burial in Middletown, Conn., June 7, 2024. McKeeman was a radioman assigned to a B-24 Liberator aircraft which was shot down off the coast of France in 1944. He was declared unrecoverable, but his remains were identified in 2023 as part of the Defense Department’s ongoing mission of providing the fullest possible accounting of missing service members.
